# Export to Voyado

> Learn how to export your customer set labels to Voyado for segmentation, automations, and targeting.

## What does exporting segmentation labels to Voyado do?

Exporting segmentation labels to Voyado lets you push Dema customer set labels directly to Voyado contacts. Once enabled, customers in a set receive Voyado labels in a consistent format (for example, `DEMA|My Set|VIP`), so you can use them in selections, automations, and other targeting.

## Connect Voyado to Dema

Connect both **Import** and **Export** from the Voyado integration modal. Import must be connected first because Dema uses your Voyado contact data to match customers before exporting labels.

### 1. Connect Import

1. In Voyado Config Hub, create a Delta Share for the **Contact Data** product, or ask your Voyado contact to create it for you.
2. Open the activation link from Voyado and download the `.share` credentials file.
3. In Dema, go to **Settings > Integrations**, click **Add data connection**, and select **Voyado**.
4. On the **Import** tab, click **Upload .share file** and select the file.
5. Click **Connect**.
6. If Dema asks you to choose a share, schema, or table, select the option that contains the contact data and click **Connect** again. Repeat this step if another selection appears.

For more information, see [Voyado's Delta Share guide](https://developer.voyado.com/docs/data-access/delta-share).

<Warning>
  The Delta Share credentials contain a sensitive bearer token. Treat the credentials like an API key or password.
</Warning>

<Note>
  Delta Share credentials have an expiry date. Before they expire, open the Voyado integration modal, upload a new `.share` file on the **Import** tab, and click **Reconnect**. Otherwise, Dema stops receiving contact updates and labels are no longer applied to new contacts.
</Note>

### 2. Connect Export

1. Create an API key in **Voyado Engage > Settings > API**. We recommend a dedicated key for Dema so you can revoke it independently of your other integrations.
2. In Dema, go to **Settings > Integrations**, click **Add data connection**, and select **Voyado**.
3. Open the **Export** tab and enter:
   * The Voyado API key
   * Your tenant base URL, for example `https://<client>.voyado.com`
4. Click **Connect**.

The base URL is the address of your Voyado tenant, not a link to a specific page inside Voyado. The API key must belong to that same tenant.

## How to export segmentation labels to Voyado

1. Click the **•••** button on the right side of the customer set.
2. Click **"Manage export integrations."**
3. From the list, opt in for **Voyado**.
4. Click **"Apply"**.

<Note>
  Voyado processes label updates in the background. Changes usually appear within about 10 minutes, but can occasionally take longer. If you do not see updates after 30 minutes, contact us.
</Note>

## How it works

**Labels in Voyado are updated:**

* Every morning
* When the Voyado export is enabled for a customer set
* Whenever the customer set is updated (clicking **"Save"** inside the set)
* When the name of the customer set is changed

**Labels in Voyado are removed:**

* When the Voyado export is disabled for a customer set
* When the customer set is deleted

Customers whose email address does not match a Voyado contact will not receive a label.

Renaming a Dema customer set renames the existing labels in Voyado rather than creating new ones, so selections and automations that use those labels keep working.

<Warning>
  Both disabling the export and deleting a Dema customer set remove its labels from Voyado, so any Voyado selection or automation that relies on those labels stops working. Disabling is reversible — re-enabling the export reapplies the labels — while deleting the set is not.
</Warning>

## How labels look

Labels in Voyado follow this format:

```
DEMA|<set name>|<label name>
```

**Example:** If the set name is **"My Set"** and the label name is **"VIP"**, the label in Voyado will be:

```
DEMA|My Set|VIP
```

A contact can have labels from multiple Dema customer sets.

## How to use labels in Voyado

Voyado labels work like static segments: they group contacts without requiring the contacts to meet criteria defined in Voyado. Dema keeps the exported labels up to date as customers move between labels in a customer set.

You can use Dema labels to:

* Find contacts with a specific label, or combination of labels, in Voyado's filtering tool
* Build segments based on a label
* Include or exclude contacts in automations
* Target messages to a labeled group of contacts
* View the labels assigned to an individual contact in the **Labels** section of their contact card

For example, filter by `DEMA|My Set|VIP` to find customers assigned to the **VIP** label in the **My Set** customer set.

You can view and manage all labels from the **Targeting** menu in Voyado.

<Warning>
  Dema fully manages every label that starts with `DEMA|`. Each update removes these labels from all contacts and reapplies them, so do not rename or delete them in Voyado, and do not assign them to contacts manually — those changes are lost on the next update.
</Warning>
